GOALS: The announcement “Libraries and communities” aims to promote and enhance the role of libraries such as
Cultural and social centers in communities, especially in disadvantaged areas. We intend to encourage reading e
access to library services, favoring the active participation of the third sector and local administrations
To develop sustainable and inclusive cultural policies over time.
Fundable actions: The actions that can be financed in the announcement “Libraries and communities” include projects that
aim to improve the accessibility and usability of libraries, both physically and through the use of technologies
innovative. It is possible to finance initiatives that promote reading and social inclusion, as cultural events,
workshops and animation activities involving different ranges of the population, in particular those more
vulnerable. Furthermore, Projects are encouraged that involve co-design with the third sector, to activate
collaborations with schools, associations and local authorities. The proposals must be integrated and multidimensional,
avoiding isolated initiatives. It is essential that the projects are rooted in the territory and respond to the specifications
needs of the community, helping to transform libraries into spaces of aggregation and cultural comparison.
In the end, Actions must be sustainable over time, guaranteeing a lasting impact on the community.
The projects must have an overall duration equal to 24 months.
Admissible subjects; The announcement presupposes the creation of partnerships made up of at least three subjects.
The subjects eligible to participate in the announcement “Libraries and communities” they include:
- Municipal libraries: They must belong to qualified cities such as “City that reads” For the two -year period 2022-
2023, located in the regions of southern Italy (Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily); - Third Sector Bodies: Non -profit organizations operating in the field of social promotion e
cultural; - Other partners: May include schools, public institutions, university, research bodies and subjects of
entrepreneurial world, like bookstores and publishing houses. However, The participation of profit subjects must
be oriented to contribute with skills and resources for the development of the community, rather than a
seek economic benefits.
It is important that each individual participates in only one project to ensure eligibility.
Financial allocation available: The announcement provides an overall amount of 1
million euros.
Extent of the contribution: The resources foreseen for the tender are equal to 1 million euros: 500 thousand euros are
made available by the CON IL SUD Foundation, the others 500 thousand euros from the Center for books and reading.
The requested contribution must be not less than € 50.000,00 and not exceeding € 100.000,00.
However, the financing cannot exceed 80% of the overall cost of the project.
The proposals must provide for a share of co-financing, made up entirely of financial resources, equal to
at least the 20% the total cost of the project, made up entirely of financial resources.
