Description:

The project aims to promote capacity development in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the Western Balkan countries, with a specific focus on the agri-food sector and internal areas. The initiative, led by a training institution from Campania with consolidated experience in transnational programmes, involves public and private partners from the Balkan region to encourage the development of self-entrepreneurship as a tool for sustainable economic growth and social integration.

The project was born from the analysis of the needs of the internal regions of the Western Balkans, characterized by unexpressed potential in the agri-food sector and by the need to create job opportunities to combat economic and social marginalization in the internal areas of the reference countries. There is a lack of specialist skills for the valorisation of local resources, the adoption of sustainable practices and the use of digital technologies for innovation and the promotion of competitive agri-food businesses.

To respond to these challenges, the project focuses on the thematic areas of work-based learning and green and digital skills, fundamental to encourage the creation and management of local businesses in the agri-food sector. Through the integration of innovative teaching methodologies and collaboration with the private sector, the aim is to train a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of exploiting local resources in a sustainable and competitive way.

The project involves the creation of training activities that combine e-learning, practical workshops and internship periods in companies in the agri-food sector in Italy. Particular attention will be paid to the design of educational tools for business management, digital marketing and environmental sustainability, as well as the creation of mentoring paths to support participants in defining and starting their own entrepreneurial activities.

Transnational exchanges will be promoted between participating countries to encourage the sharing of good practices and the building of collaborative networks in the agri-food sector. The expected duration of the project is 24 months, divided into five Work Packages (WP), including the planning of activities, monitoring, impact assessment and dissemination of results to ensure long-term sustainability.

Thanks to the collaboration between the participating organizations, the project aims to improve the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the beneficiaries, promote employability and economic protagonism in the internal areas of the Western Balkans, contributing to their sustainable development and regional cohesion.
