Notice for the financing of Excellence Training Projects in the tourist sector aimed at the establishment of the National Strategic Pole of Higher Education Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism has published, in data 17 December 2024, a notice relating to the financing of higher training and excellence projects, with an overall equipment of 8 million euros.
The goal of the announcement is to enhance the Italian tourism sector through initiatives aimed at growing the skills and specializations of operators, promoting the creation of new professional figures capable of responding to the challenges of a constantly evolving market.
Among the main purposes includes the establishment of the National Strategic Polo of Higher Training Tourism, a point of reference for the sustainable and innovative development of the sector, intended to improve the competitiveness of Italian tourism at an international level.
Call of the Ministry of Tourism: Training for competitiveness and development
The main objectives of the announcement of the Ministry of Tourism, focused on investment in training, are the following:

  1. Improvement of skills: strengthen the professional skills of tour operators through high quality training courses, promoting the introduction of new professional figures with managerial and specialist skills.
  2. Employment expansion: increase employment basins, favoring the meeting between demand and supply of work in the tourism sector and providing training tools capable of responding to the needs of a constantly evolving market.
  3. Competitiveness of the tourism sector: enhance the competitiveness of the sector internationally, facing the challenges related to the drop in foreign tourism and the demographic decrease, through the creation of a qualified and innovative workforce.
    Recipients of the training courses
    It is aimed at a vast audience of recipients, With the aim of promoting access to quality training courses. Among the beneficiaries they appear:
    • workers already active in the tourism sector, who can update and strengthen their professional skills;
    • Unemployed people or looking for employment, To which the opportunity is offered to acquire specialist skills to enter the labor market;
    • Qualified professionals, like tourist guides, which can take advantage of advanced training courses to improve their professional offer and respond to the new needs of the tourist market.
    Specific objectives of the training courses financed by the announcement
    has the aim of supporting training courses capable of responding to the needs of an evolving market, focusing on four main guidelines.
    First, promotes the creation of managerial figures in the tourism sector, introducing innovative and specialist skills necessary to hold roles of responsibility and guide innovation.     A further focus is placed on inclusion and employability, through paths dedicated to unemployed people or looking for employment, In addition to qualified professionals, like tourist guides, who will be able to refine and expand their skills. In the end, The announcement intends to contribute to the qualitative rise in the tourism sector, forming highly qualified operators and promoting an approach oriented to excellence, with positive repercussions on the competitiveness and image of Italian tourism at an international level.
    Types and characteristics of the projects that are financeable
    A wide range of high -level training projects, including Master of I and II level, High specialization courses and Higher Training Courses, With the aim of developing advanced skills and responding to the needs of a rapidly evolving tourist market.
    The overall contribution paid for each training course cannot exceed the amount of 1.500.000 euro. If the overall amount of the project exceeds this threshold, Excellent expenses will not be considered admissible and must be incurred independently by the beneficiary.
    The maximum duration of the training courses must be equal to an overall mountain hours of 1.500 ore, of which at least the 30% dedicated to teaching. The remaining mountain hours can be dedicated to activities such as project work, individual study, final exam, training internships, seminars, international exchanges relating to the course. In order to obtain the title, The learners will have to guarantee a participation with profit equal at least to the 75% of the overall hours mountain.     The distinctive characteristics of the training courses include a focus on specialist skills, With particular attention to guarantee innovation and quality in the tourism sector. Furthermore, A methodology based on work-based learning is adopted (WBL), which integrates theoretical and practical training directly in real working contexts, favoring the immediate application of the skills acquired. A strategic element of this initiative is the establishment of the National Strategic Polo of Higher Training Tourism, A center of excellence and innovation destined to become a point of reference for advanced training and the development of the tourism sector at national and international level.
    Deadline and methods of participation in the announcement
    Training bodies interested in participating in the announcement, also in partnership with regions and autonomous provinces, trade associations, bilateral entities and third sector entities, may present their proposals following the methods indicated.
