Through the fifth edition of the Socio-Health Notice, the CON IL SUD Foundation intends to support interventions in favor of caregivers, who daily assist family members with high care needs. In particular, the Foundation makes available 4 millions of euros of private resources for projects that include support paths aimed at alleviating the care burden and strengthening care services for patients.
The initiative is aimed at third sector organizations in Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily.
In Italy the family represents a privileged place of care, both for cultural reasons and for the insufficiency of dedicated services. Caregivers are family members who freely and voluntarily care for their loved ones with high care needs (for example cancer patients, chronic degenerative, with rare diseases, with congenital or supervening disabilities), with obvious repercussions on one's daily life and family structure. A situation that involves changes in lifestyle with negative consequences in terms of job opportunities, disposable income, psychophysical well-being and sociality.
Proposals may provide for the activation or strengthening of guidance and consultancy services to offer information on how to access social and healthcare services, opportunities and resources for assistance and care, support for bureaucratic procedures; practical support interventions for everyday life; actions aimed at promoting the psycho-physical well-being of the caregiver, also through activities to promote free time, moments of aggregation and self/mutual help, activities aimed at promoting proximity networks with a view to community welfare, also to support working caregivers.
The call is aimed at partnerships made up of a minimum of 4 organizations, at least two of which belong to the Third Sector world. The public body responsible for social welfare services in the area in which it is intended to intervene must be involved in the projects (es. ASL, Scope, Common, etc.), who may participate in one or more project proposals.

Contribution amount cannot exceed € 400.000 with a monetary co-financing quota equal to at least 20% of the total cost of the project. The overall duration of the project cannot be less than 36 months and not exceeding 48 months. The initiative is divided into two distinct phases: the first aimed at selecting the proposals with the greatest impact on the area of ​​intervention and the subsequent remodulation, aimed at enriching the proposal and clarifying any critical aspects identified in the evaluation phase.
