“Foundation With Southern Italy” intends to combat depopulation and isolation of the southern territories, through interventions that contribute to slowing down the abandonment process, to trace alternative development paths giving meaning to “reinhabiting the South”, actively involving local communities by laying the foundations for their revitalization.
With these objectives, the Con il Sud Foundation launches the new tender "Reinhabiting the South - Local development tender for the regeneration of Southern Italy", which is aimed at small municipalities and Third Sector organizations in Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily and makes available 8 million euros, to support 4 project.
How to apply?
By formulating an “expression of interest”, specifying information about the promoting group, formulate the application, on the multi-year strategy of revitalization of the territory and on the project actions that, in the short and medium term, intends to launch to follow up on the project objectives.
The presentation of the expression of interest is handled by a third sector body with registered office in the candidate territory.
Each project must refer to an area of at least three neighboring municipalities, in which a population of no more than 20.000 inhabitants, in which an SAI project is active (reception and integration system).
The goal is to contribute to the demographic regeneration of territories through the dimensions of birth, remain, come back and welcome.
The intervention is divided into actions, coherent and organically framed in a single regenerative strategy, that they may concern, integrating them together, the following areas:
a) valorisation of common goods (es. unused schools, urban spaces, historic properties, ecc.);
b) valorisation of environmental resources (es. creation of social energy communities; recovery e
use of abandoned land, of natural parks, ecc.);
c) activation of sustainable mobility services;
d) improvement and innovation of social welfare services;
e) development of social entrepreneurship activities to encourage the social and work reintegration of
fragile people;
f) support for educational communities;
g) actions for digitalisation;
h) services for sustainable tourism;
i) actions for «southworking».
| The tender is divided into two distinct phases: at first is aimed at the candidacy and selection of intervention territories, while the second to the definition of the projects to be carried out. During the first phase, territories can apply by formulating an "expression of interest", specifying information on the "promoting group" of the candidacy, on the multi-year strategy of revitalization of the territory and on the project actions that, in the short and medium term, is intended to be launched to follow up the strategy. The presentation of the expression of interest is handled by a Third sector organisation with registered office in the candidate territory. Proposals must be sent exclusively through the Chàiros portal. At the end of the first phase of evaluation of expressions of interest, the territories admitted to the next one will be identified phase two executive planning of projects, which will be coordinated by a "territorial coordination group" made up of representatives of the entities that presented the expression of interest and collaborators of the Foundation with the South, including expert consultants. |
