ISI INAIL notice 2025/2026: 600 million in non-repayable funds for workplace safety, contributions up to 130.000 euros for businesses

Purpose: The ISI INAIL Call is an INAIL initiative that makes non-repayable contributions available to businesses. The objective is to support investments aimed at improving health and safety at work, through the purchase of new machinery and equipment and the introduction of organizational solutions and innovative technologies. The financing covers up to 65% of eligible costs, with a maximum ceiling of 130.000 euros per project.

Territory of intervention:
Il intervention territory of the ISI INAIL call is for the entire Italian national territory. This means that all businesses that have can participate production units active in Italy, regardless of the region in which they operate. The funded projects must concern locations, factories or branches located in Italy, and the interventions must have a concrete effect on improving the health and safety of Italian workers.

To those who turn: The ISI INAIL Call is aimed primarily at businesses of any size - micro, small, medium and large ones - which are regularly registered with the Chamber of Commerce and operate on Italian territory. Both partnerships and capital companies can participate, and individual businesses, provided they have an active production unit on the national territory. The tender also affects specific sectors such as agriculture, industry, trade and services, with some financing lines dedicated to categories with particular risks. All companies that intend to invest in safety can benefit from the contribution, improve internal organisation, introduce innovative technologies and reduce risks related to accidents or exposure to dangerous substances. Furthermore, the call is also open to consortia and business networks, provided that the projects concern workplace safety and are documentable. Companies must have a regular situation from a contribution and insurance point of view (DURC positive) in order to submit the application.

Sectors/areas of intervention: The sectors and areas of intervention of the ISI INAIL Call concern all economic activities that intend to improve health and safety in the workplace. In particular, interventions may concern: Industry and craftsmanship – purchase of safe machinery, process automation to reduce risks, collective protections. Commerce and services – adaptation of structures, training, safety devices for workers. Agriculture and animal husbandry – safer agricultural machinery, individual protection systems, reduction of chemical or physical risks. Building and construction – tools and equipment to prevent accidents on construction sites, protection systems from environmental risks. Environmental interventions and remediation – removal of asbestos or other dangerous substances, reduction of exposure to chemical substances or physical agents. Innovation and technologies – introduction of organizational models, procedure, innovative software or technologies to increase security. Training and awareness - courses and courses to increase workers' awareness of risks and correct safety procedures.

What can be done: Projects that involve concrete interventions to improve health and safety at work can be financed, divided into the following main areas:
Projects for the reduction of technopathic risks (es. reduction of exposure to hazardous materials, replacement of risky machinery with safer solutions);
Projects for the adoption of organizational and social responsibility models (es. introduction of safety management systems, innovative organizational processes);
Projects to reduce accident risks through structural or technological interventions;
Remediation projects from materials containing asbestos, with related disposal and safety activities;
Projects for micro and small businesses in specific sectors, with interventions aimed at the production and safety needs of the sector;
Projects for micro and small businesses in the agricultural sector, to purchase innovative machinery and equipment that improve safety, efficiency and sustainability.

Eligible and non-eligible expenses: include all costs directly necessary for the realization of the project, including any ancillary or instrumental costs essential to complete it and technical costs within the limits established by the tender. They must concern new projects, not yet started or in progress when the electronic counter closes. Acquisitions through leasing cannot be financed, the purchase of used goods and other expenses specifically excluded from the tender.

The concessions: The benefits provided by the ISI INAIL Notice mainly consist of non-repayable contributions intended for companies to carry out safety interventions at work. In practice, INAIL covers a part of the eligible expenses of the approved projects, up to a maximum of 65%, with a maximum ceiling per single project of 130.000 euro. This contribution allows companies to support investments in the purchase of safe machinery and equipment, the adoption of innovative technologies, the implementation of organizational models and the remediation of hazardous materials without having to return the money received.

Investments include: include the purchase of safe machinery and equipment, the adoption of innovative technologies, organizational interventions and remediation, as well as technical expenses necessary for the realization of the project. They must all concern new and documentable projects.

The participation methods: takes place via an electronic booking procedure (click day), with submission of the application exclusively online. To be admitted to the sending phase, projects must reach a minimum eligibility threshold of 130 points. As for deadlines, the procedure for completing the application opens from 13 April 2026, the closure is on May 8th 2026, ore 18:00.

The merit assessment of the applications is based on the following criteria: a scoring system that measures the quality and effectiveness of the project in terms of improving health and safety at work. In particular, the criteria take into account the risk reduction achieved, of the type of intervention proposed, the level of innovation of the solutions adopted and the coherence between the project, the costs incurred and the prevention objectives. Further evaluation elements concern the characteristics of the company (size, sector of activity, risk level) and the completeness and correctness of the documentation presented. The overall score determines the admissibility of the application and access to the resource booking phase, in compliance with the minimum threshold established by the tender.
